AERIALS TEAM TRYOUTS FOR THE 2025-26 SEASON
ARE COMPLETE

Tryouts for the 2025-26 competitive season were completed in March. However, if you are interested in joining our competitive team, please reach out to the Gymnastics Program Manager, Alexander Asante-Dean at [email protected] OR 703-228-3618 to schedule an evaluation.

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN TRYING OUT FOR COMPETITIVE GYMNASTICS
Considerations in level placement:
  • Teachability - how well does your athlete receive instruction and corrections for concepts and skills?
  • Commitment - patience (trusting the process) and dedication are important to the longevity and success of athletes in competitive gymnastics given a year-round training schedule.
Other important criteria include:
  • Sportsmanship
  • Perseverance
  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Attendance
Mental toughness:
  • Does your athlete respond well to positive criticism? Competitive gymnastics focuses on major and minor details in the performance of skills and routines. Athlete's ability to respond positively to corrections is critical to their success.
Competitive gymnastics is a year-round sport:
  • Athletes train 12-months out of the year, with roughly 4 of those months being the competitive season (unless in a pre-competitive level). Strong attendance has a direct correlation to athletes' safe training and competitive success.
Competitive Gymnastics is an incredibly rewarding sport that aids each athlete in personal, emotional, and physical growth as well as overcoming challenges, comradery, and competitive spirit. We strive to provide an environment where athletes can grow to be well-rounded individuals who also succeed in an rigorous competitive environment.
